For now, I was able to put up more images at Banded Oak Brewing, in downtown Denver. Banded Oak is one of Denver’s finest micro-breweries. They have earned Gold at the Great American Beer Festival and they are most known for their barrel-age technique. They have renovated the brewing area to accommodate for more seating, and the ample wall space offers great natural light for viewing the different pieces of art. The tap-house is open 7-days a week, and is located at: 470 North Broadway, Denver CO

Read MoreI read a quote attributed to the actor Tom Harding recently, and even though I don’t think I remember quite perfectly it went something like this, “Sitting in your living room, eating your favorite snack, worrying less about what others are up to, is a pretty big deal.”
What is the quote saying, I’m not 100% certain there is a single interpretation. For me, it is about being content, about staying grounded, about not judging oneself compared to others. Ironically enough I was doing just that when I came across the quote, sitting in my living room, eating a snack, taking a break from reading a book and thinking everything was pretty good.

“How many photographers does it take to change a lightbulb?” - “100.” - “One to change it, and the other 99 to say they could do it better.”

Read MoreAt one point I lived in the shadow of Mt. Rosalie, the peak featured in this image, and was able to hike, bike and ski, and explore the hills and trails around it. I wasn’t seriously pursuing photography at that point, but just wanted to be outside taking in the different views. Mt. Bierstadt and Mt. Evans are the two prominent peaks sitting over the metro area, and having been able to summit both at different points, they stand out for both their vistas as well as their access to wilderness within a few hours drive of the city.

Nature can usually erase the scars of most man-made calamities, much like a river is renewed each spring. So what analogy do we draw from this small piece of history, other than time allows us to heal and look whole? Or maybe that ever changing currents bring both sorrow and joy? Or maybe the worst of our pain is our own to bear, that a calamity, though distant and so quiet to others, can stop us in our tracks and leave wrenching scars that take close examination to see and will always change to course of events for those involved.

Read MoreGetting to the western side of the Pass I found this composition - a large snow field, surrounded by pine trees, with the top of a high ridge off in the distance, but best of all, the North Star was clearly visible high in the sky above the whole setting. The challenge was that this spot is right along the road, with no real shoulder to safely park in. This would mean parking a distance away, and then standing next to the camera while it recorded the scene, 500 frames in total, or leaving the camera setting by itself on a cold winter night, along the highway, a lone witness to the traversing night sky.
