Anatomy of a Composition - Galactic Host

The Galactic Core is a breathtaking sight. The four months out the year that we don’t see it there are many other objects, but this is the composition I think about the most.  Hoping this is the first of many nights under the stars in the next few months.

It seems that Colorado has limitless night skies - from the vast high plains to mountain passes and points along the Continental Divide, finding the horizon empty of city lights is always worth the effort.  Adding to that sense of wonder is finding a new landscape, a new setting to set under the shimmering night sky and the Dark Horse Nebula that dominates the Galactic Core.

While I’ve had the chance to travel through most of Colorado, there are still some details in the regional maps that need closer examination. This spot, along the aptly named Aspen Ridge in a newer spot for me. I first started to explore it on a motorcycle six years ago, but haven’t ventured too deep into it to find it’s better  secrets. So far I’ve been pleased with what I’ve found, and hope to see more of it soon.
