Anatomy of a Composition - Finding Fall (Blue River)
This corner on Highway 9 overlooks one of the bigger bends in the Blue River as it flows north away from the Continental Divide. It’s a place where fog is common and the morning light can drip over the edge of the Divide. Traveling through the narrow stretch it isn’t hard to mentally transport yourself back to a time when the road was less congested and the mountains surrounding it were less inhabited, but the reality is this is just out of the town limits, and dodging the traffic while crossing the road is no easy feat.
So finding this morning, that overnight calm not shaken off and the fog glowing with late morning light made it worth the effort to pull over and take it all in, instead of trying to rush on to the next destination.
Just as a reminder, this year’s calendar is now available and they are ready to ship! It features a collection of shots taken each month from around Colorado to share the unique beauty of the state throughout the entire year. You can preview a Web Gallery for all of the images inside this year’s calendar.
