A Colorado Calendar for 2022
I’ve been waiting to share this for a while, and now I finally can, a 2022 Calendar featuring images from around Colorado is heading to the press and will be available for purchase in just a few weeks! There are so many amazing sights in our state and whittling the past two year’s shooting down to just 12 images was daunting, yet so rewarding. Beginning and ending with images from the metro area, the months take us to just a few of my favorite locations, at my favorite time of the year. You can preview a Web Gallery for all of the images inside this year’s calendar.
This year’s edition of the calendar features a number of iconic sights from around the state, as well as some more unique landscape features. Garden of the Gods, under a snow covered Pikes Peak starts the year’s journey off, followed by a cold February morning in the Yampa Valley. The Elk River, under a heavy blanket of snow, shot during early March stands out as a beautiful blank and white image. April has been the month of the Super-Moon the past few years, setting over the Front Range makes for a beautiful image. Capturing the Milky Way over Loveland Pass and the Continental Divide marked a May adventure. Any season in Crested Butte is special, but a June Sunrise, with flowers just beginning to bloom added vibrance to this year's collection. The American Basin during the month of July is always rewarding, and a trip over the high passes rewards with a unique view of the sunrise. Sunflowers are reminders that summer is winding down, when the fields surrounding DIA begin to bloom. Aspen Ridge, just above the Arkansas Valley, holds many secrets, and the trees during September love to show off. The East River, just off of Gothic Road offers prime October colors, and under a blanket of rare fog it is truly special. November brings winter to the High Country, with Mt. Princeton glowing in the morning light. And finally a solitary pine decked out in festive lights, topped by the Moon, feeling like the center of a snow-globe, finishes out our year.
The American Basin, and the Sleeping Giant can be found on the front and back covers respectively, and all images inside are 8”x10.5.” I do hope you enjoy this year’s calendar, and I look forward to creating more of these in the future!
