Lines Crossed
Lines Crossed
Learning and seeking redemption. Maybe that isn’t how we define boundaries, but that is what this morning was all about. The previous trip to Steamboat had yielded many unique, and beautiful images, but they were accompanied by a loneliness and an unease that wouldn’t be easily reconciled. So I returned a few weeks later to find this reconciliation and to add some peace to the previous collection of pictures. Maybe it was the contrast of the formidable and the modern, the fresh snow and the blank sky, but the lack of shadows became the dominant theme; a suspension of time.
A simple, wide angle image, that took advantage of the existing scale and crossing wire lines, it focuses on the post in the foreground to emphasize the immediate. The medium aperture allowed for a slight blur in the background, without erasing the detail, to remind that what might seem distant, still holds relevance no matter how far it feels.
