Artist's Statement

I can't say that I am comfortable with the term "artist," much less photographer.  I do know I enjoy the whole process; being outside, see shapes and patterns and color and light, and tying them together.  Sometimes the knot is balance and symmetrical and it does exactly what you want, other times you have no idea what mess you've made.  Either way it was worth the exploration and effort, and you will have gained something for the future. 

That's where I am, I am ready to step into the future.  I hope this is just the start and that this becomes a better place to share my images.  Most of June was spent touring the great national parks of the west and south west, as well as the California and Oregon coasts.  I had time in Portland the Columbia Gorge, and while I'm really happy to share the photos from that trip, I know I need to make return trips to all of those locations at some point in the not to distant future.
